Akihabara

Once a place for dealing in black market goods during and after World War Two, Akihabara has become the center for computers and electronic goods. Whether you are looking for the latest plasma television or that discontinued part for your old laptop, there is a good chance you will find it here and a lot more. With so many shops, it doesn't have to be said that it pays to shop around. Most of the shops are used to foreigners bargaining for a better deal and most of the bigger stores have English speaking staff on hand. Akihabara is easily accessible from JR Akihabara station, exiting from the "Electric Town" exit. Chuo-dori is the main street with many shops located off the main street down smaller side streets.
