More sophisticated and up-market, Ginza is the place where the first deparment stores were built and one of the more well known areas of Tokyo outside of Japan. All of the most famous brands have stores here. The pace is a little less hectic than other shopping areas such as Shinjuku and Shibuya. Ginza is also famous for its numerous galleries and up-scales restaurants and cafes.

The Sony Building in Ginza will fascinate and delight anyone into the latest electronic visual and music devces. The building has muliple floors of displays of the latest electronic goods. You are also free to a certain extent to try any of the equipment. One floor contains tax-free, export models, but you can probably still find better deals in Aikhabara.
